This course provides a comprehensive overview of the Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP) protocol, a minimally invasive surgical approach for the treatment of periodontitis. LANAP utilizes the PerioLase MVP-7, a pulsed Nd:YAG laser with a specific wavelength (1064nm), to achieve predictable periodontal regeneration without the need for traditional scalpel and suture surgery. The lecture will cover the scientific basis of LANAP, the step-by-step clinical protocol, patient selection criteria, post-operative care, and long-term outcomes. The course will also address the differences between LANAP and traditional periodontal therapies, as well as other laser-assisted periodontal procedures.
